OOC chat bout the game.

Well my posts have taken us up to day three. So a bunch of people are already sick, and a few people are dying. I will post about the deaths later on today.

Just so you guys can take your character from whatever time you choose I am going to ask that up until you get to the ranch that you start your own thread. I also ask that you don't take your posts further than the timeline in my posts just yet. There is a specific progression that I am working with.

Oh yeah. Its been a while since I mentioned it IC, but its early November.

Ok, So my player is on Sunday, one week from the time of the attack, and people are already starting to panic. Will mid week RP time be too soon (regarding what you guys want to do with your characters) to have the SHTF? Or would you guys like to hold off a few days?

I ask cause I figured when I started this game that all, or most all. the non immune people would be dead in a month.

Btw, where exactly in Iowa is the ranch? I'm looking at online maps trying to plot a route - I'll be driving across North and South Dakota to get there - and I'd like to get the routes accurate if I can.

Okay some information for us all, Matt had gotten in touch with me before I headed off on my trip to go on vacation, his work has decided to put him on a 14 days off and 14 days on sort of schedule. Also his internet from what he told me there isn't any where he is working. I didn't get chance to talk with him on getting our new player's bio getting up and running however I don't think he'll mind for her to be integrated into the story.

Now that I'm back from my trip and had a couple of days to recover, shall we rev things up?

Okay, I'll get my starting post up in the next day or so. I'll probably be starting it on Tuesday - that's how the NPC on the dig is already infected. By the time I drive to Iowa, it'll be Thursday - unless I run into trouble en route!

I believe there are storms in Iowa (in the game!), and I'll probably have snow falling up in Canada, where I start from.

Thanks for the compliments! I'll start on post 2 in the next day or so - after I've seen the fossil pliosaurs in the Natural History Museum tomorrow! Not that I need it for the post - I'm just treating myself!

By the time I pull into Grand Forks, it'll probably be after midnight on Wednesday morning - and Sarah'll finally find out about the plague! Yes, she doesn't know yet, they didn't listen to the radio on the dig, so she hasn't heard anything yet.

I've worked out how long it SHOULD take - but I'll run into trouble on the way. Maybe take Carla to a hospital in either Fargo or Minneapolis, where I get injected with the 'inoculation' ... something like that.

Okay, I should be getting close to you guys after my next post. I'm going to jump forward a few days -basically, Sarah's going to be spending the next 24 hours slipping in and out of fever-induced delirium, after which she's going to try to loot as much useful stuff as possible before making a break for Iowa. It'll take her about 16 hours on smaller roads, so if she leaves just after noon Sunday, she'll be pulling into your locale around 8 to 10 am Monday - what a coincidence, eh?

Plus, two or three days of looting should net her a hefty haul of useful goodies - clothes, tools, weapons, food and water, fuel, useful books, you name it.

So, I'll be seeing you all fairly soon!

It will be a when, as I really like the idea of acquring the ambulance would be rather helpful and practical. And Yes I would love for us to hook up when we go foraging. *two thumbs up on that idea*

Hey all, caught Matt online earlier tonight, he's been working 18 hours on his job and he's not been able to even log on to check on how things are doing. When he had time off there was some RL things that he had to tend to. He had forgotten that we have a new player. He says keep up the good work and he's glad that we are still trucking along. He was worried that the story had died. I will see what I can do to get some input from him when I catch him online and he's not so exhausted. Also when I get the chance I'll talk to him about getting our newest player's character bio up on the site.
